Watch: Electric Scooter's Battery Explodes, Raises questions Over Safety

When someone's phone battery explodes, it's not news anymore because it happens far too often. However, there is a new concern and it has to do with an electric vehicle.

As there is a huge push towards adoption of electric vehicles, a video has emerged on social media showing an electric scooter on fire in Hyderabad.

A video shared on Twitter shows a parked electric scooter catching fire and throwing ashes and dense smoke in the air. For a technology that is slated to drive the future of mobility, it is not a good sign.

There is no confirmation as to how the electric scooter caught fire. It is not known whether someone tempered with the electric circuit or battery unit of the scooter to cause the incident.

While it is early to question the safety of electric scooters, it has certainly left people scared on social media. It's not hard to see why - if the battery of the electric scooter explodes, then it can be life-threatening.
